New Jersey: Here are Some Signs That Your Air Conditioner Needs Servicing
As someone who lives in New Jersey, I know that summers are brutal. Last summer my AC completely gave out on me. After doing some research (I’m that fix it myself kind of guy) I quickly realized I was in over my head. I also realized that if I would have been paying attention, I could have gotten it serviced before it blew out and saved myself a mint. So, New Jersey here is the product of all of my research. Beat the heat this summer. Here are some signs that your air conditioner needs servicing.
Out with the Cold in with the Warm
If your air conditioner is blowing out warm air, you obviously have an issue. By warm, I don’t mean hot, I mean warm. If your air conditioner feels like a breezy summer day blowing through your house, sure, it may be better than no breeze, but it’s failing. If you don’t get it serviced, you are going to end up paying for it. This is what happened to mine. I ended up getting heating service Redbank NJ, but that wasn’t until it was too late.
No Air Flow
Your air conditioner may be blowing out cold air, but that doesn’t mean that it’s doing it properly. In my research, I came to realize that just because it’s blowing out cold air doesn’t mean it’s fully functioning. If your house isn’t getting cold that’s another sign that the air conditioner unit is having issues.
Your thermostat is basically the brains of the A/C operation. First of all, it’s probably the best way to go about saving money, it also happens to be the thing that can cause the most issues. If your thermostat isn’t working you will know quickly. The air will either be too hot or too cold and constantly change around. If this is happening to you, call in service. You can also buy a new thermostat for relatively cheap.
Ouch! My Ears
If your air conditioner sounds like a diesel engine truck, it’s starting to fail. The sound is one of the most obvious signs of failure for any appliance, and air conditioners are no different. If you hear loud sounds coming from your air conditioner, then you have an issue. Make sure to get it checked out if you hear any grumbling or mumbling.
Air conditioners aren’t cheap. Learning to listen and feel for issues arising from your air conditioner can save you a pretty penny. Sure, air conditioner service isn’t the cheapest thing in the world, but it’s a whole lot better than paying for a new one. I know many people are going to be hesitant to throw money at repair, or maybe they will think that they will do it next paycheck, or the next, or the next. Don’t wait. If you are noticing issues jump on it right away. It could be the difference between $100 and $5,000, and that’s a lot of money.
